Promises of Our Grandmothers

The story of the Giniw Collective, a diverse resistance group led by Indigenous women, two-spirit, femme, and queer frontline warriors dedicated to protecting Mother Earth, defending the water, and living in balance as they fight Enbridge's Line 3, a pipeline that will carve trenches through 340-miles of Minnesota's unspoiled wetlands, poisoning water, Indigenous land, and threatening to destroy their very way of life.

Nari: The Shankar Women Behind A Music Revolution

Nari is the unsung story of Lakshmi Shankar and her daughter Viji, two extraordinary artists who helped bring Indian music to the west in the 1970s through their close collaborations with Ravi Shankar and George Harrison.

A documentary series following Indigenous women climate activists around the world. The women in this series use their voices and physical bodies to stand up for the water and the land, to defend their traditions and create a better future for the generations to come after them. They are strong, fierce, resilient women and they are teaching people how to reconnect with the earth.

In many parts of the world, music and language are passed down to generations through oral tradition. There are countless tribes, communities, and families who have never recorded these traditions. We will trace the origins and histories of these quickly disappearing musical traditions and languages.

SXSW 2024 Featured Panel: Women Who Embody Revolution Through Storytelling

This was my favorite session at SXSW by a mile. Truly appreciate the power of storytelling that you all are fueling, while also rebuilding the ‘tables’ designed with the inclusion of those whose labor and trauma have ‘shouldered’ these oppressive structures. The power of the pen is bold.
