Janani Shankar is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. She was trained in Indian classical vocals from the age of two and picked up guitar, bass, production and more later on. Her music, depending on each track, blends Neo-Soul, world, jazz, funk and rock. 

She has had multiple tracks played on BBC Radio: The Asian Network, as well as various college radio stations and music blogs.

Janani has had her music licensed out to films like Circumstance by Maryam Keshavarz and sold on soundtracks.
