karuna: the chopra family story

A short film depicting three generations of the legendary Chopra family - meditation guru Deepak, his children, motivational speaker Mallika and filmmaker Gotham, and Mallika’s 18-year-old daughter Tara who voted for the first time in the 2020 election. Together and separately, they discuss the motivations for moving from India to the United States, the nuances of the American Dream and how it’s changed over time, racism in America and the importance of Black Lives Matter, and the need for community and compassion in our current political climate.
